8 Bermudians Ready to Fight in Muay Thai World Expo This Week

Bermudian fighters of the Fight City Muay Thai and Fitness Gym flew overseas recently to participate in the 2021 Thai Boxing Association Classic.

Hosted in Des Moines, Iowa, the TBA Muay Thai World Expo is the largest Muay Thai tournament in North America that sees up to 400 fighters worldwide.

Although the 2020 TBA Classic was cancelled and rescheduled to this year, the team says they are ready to throw down.

“The vibe is good here. We’re going to have a healthy BBQ this evening after weigh-ins. Then, we’ll see how it goes tomorrow when they see all the people. The guys are a bunch of goofs which helps balance out the seriousness of what they’re doing.”
Emma Edwards.

Leading the fighters to the tournament are Kru Daniel Chacon, Coach Chuck, and Coach Nikki.

Coach Chuck isn’t a stranger to America’s largest Muay Thai tournament. In 5 years, he holds 6 Amateur Muay Thai Champions under his belt, and he will be competing again alongside his team this weekend.

Fighters: Coach Chuck, Nate Amaral, Ashton Bell, Tyler Kerr, Mark Faralli, Paolo Fiandesio, Antwan Edwards,  Ashley Aitken

The event offers live stream passes, and you can purchase by the day or an All-Access pass for all four days. Click here for more info.
