Johhny Bread Recipe

Johnny Bread is a favorite in many Bermudian homes. It is the perfect accompaniment to your Sunday breakfast of Codfish and Potatoes. 


3 1/4 cups flour 

1 cup sugar

4 tablespoons baking powder

Pinch of salt

2 eggs

1/2 stick of butter


1. Mix dry ingredients and add in the butter until the mixture looks like crumbs. 

2. Mix milk and egg in a separate bowl and add to dry mixture and mix well

3. Roll mixture unto floured surface until it is about an inch in thickness and cut into round disks.

4. Fry slowly on a hot frying pan on medium low heat until golden
